CONFERENCES

PPN offers various opportunities for learning throughout the year which are designed to benefit our members both personally and professionally. Our conferences give you access to some of the top speakers in the industry in addition to local mentors and seasoned PPN members who are always willing to share their expertise, while our 1 day Focus Workshops offer a smaller, more hands-on learning experience.

LOCATION…

It’s no secret where our members live and work, so in order to accommodate most, conferences are held either in Central Nebraska or Eastern Nebraska.

WHY ATTEND?

The same reason why you joined: to learn from each other, to push ourselves to the limits of creativity, and to increase our awareness of what is means to be a professional.

EXPECTATIONS…

As with all things, YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE. The conference schedule is available prior to each conference so you may choose to participate in the entire schedule of events, or just a few; it is highly recommended, however, that you do book a room (especially if you’re new) to get the full conference experience. Just like the lottery: you can’t win if you don’t play.

WHAT TO BRING…

No two photographers are alike. Everyone has their own style, so bring an open mind, and also:

• notepad + pen
• layers (larger venues have inconsistent climate control)
• your camera (often we’ll shoot together ‘safari’)
• dress is casual: however, bring cocktail attire for 1 night

WORKSHOPS

PPN Focus Workshops are 1 day workshops held throughout the year all across the state hosted by a Nebraska or Regional photographer and are open to all members as well as non-members (on occasion). Each day of learning is individualized to create a hands-on atmosphere, whatever the topic of learning may be. *pre-registration required & registration fees apply
