Meet Professional Photographers of Nebraska Board of Directors! They are the brains behind-the-scenes of every PPN event; from conferences to workshops. This volunteer board is dedicated to helping new and established professional photographers achieve their goals through strategic planning of educational events, mentorship, and networking. If you are interested in distinguishing yourself as a future board member or just want to volunteer your service, contact any board member. They are here for YOU! And, do you have an item for a board of director’s meeting agenda? The board meets quarterly as well as communicate through group emails on a regular basis.

Mary joined PPN the minute she started her own photography business in 2001.

“I was advised that this was the best group of people to align myself with, both personally and professionally. I joined and I have never looked back. These people have encouraged me during my photography career, become my mentors and friends and I would not be serving on the board of directors, let alone as President, without these connections.”

Mary earned her A.F. PH degree in 2016. After years of moving her studio to various locations, she finally landed in a “garden level” studio at home and lives on two acres just outside of Nebraska City.  She photographs nearly every opportunity that comes her way, but her passions are children, pets and families. Mary and her husband Ken have 4 adult children (2 are married) and 3 beautiful grandchildren and one nearly- perfect dog, Summer, their British Cream Retriever.

Bob started his photography career in 1990 when he photographed his first wedding. After working as a photographer part time for several years, Bob opened his first studio in 1997 in Lexington. In 2006 he moved to Ogallala. He is primarily known for his senior & wedding photography. Bob was President of the PPN in 2008-2009 and 2016-2017.

“I got started in photography because I broke my neck playing football as a Freshman in High School. I wanted to go to the ‘away’ football games, but I wasn’t old enough to drive. And, because I wasn’t on the team, I wasn’t allowed to ride the bus. So, I joined the annual staff so I could get a ride to the games. Then I fell in love with photography.”

Terry began his career in Jr. High working at a Grand Island camera store and studio – sweeping floors, delivering mail, washing windows, but more enjoyably developing film, printing photofinishing, and selling cameras and supplies throughout his high school years. After a couple of years at college, he returned as a photographer and just a couple years later was promoted to head photographer and studio manager.  In 1984 he purchased a different local studio and struck out on his own. After the passing of his wife Nancy he closed the studio and began a long, and very winding road to retirement. Terry currently works at Hal Maggiore Studio as a part time graphic artist and photographer. As a member for over 50 years he feels that PPofN is just like  family, with new members happily joining us and some sadly departing. Terry has earned Craftsman degree, Diamond Service Degree and received an Honorary Fellow of Photography.
